Wax carved ring workshop

In this workshop, you’ll learn the technique of wax carving and craft a beautifully unique ring using soft, pink jeweller’s wax. Pink wax is special because heat allows you to shape and mould it, making the process less about carving and more about sculpting. It’s wonderfully immersive and you can really get lost in it!
 
Throughout the class, you’ll explore the ancient art of lost-wax casting and use a selection of tools to create beautiful shapes and textures in the wax.
 
After the workshop, your wax model will be cast into sterling silver. You can also choose to add gold vermeil for an extra cost (This can be arranged on the day and depending on the cost of gold at the time, this will be around £35-40). Creating sustainable jewellery is at the heart of my practice and I will only use casters that cast in recycled metals.
 
What you will learn:
 
– How to create simple designs for wax carving
– How to carve jewellery wax
 
Your silver pendant will be carefully finished and polished by me in my little studio. This will then be gift wrapped and posted directly to you. 
 
This workshop will be held in the beautiful The Basement Snug; A cosy and welcoming studio space in the heart of Kenilworth.

During the class I will also provide a glass of fizz and some sweet treats.

This price includes up to 10 grams of silver. If your finished ring weigh more than this, you will be charged per gram depending on the cost of silver at the time.
